MgA. Eliška Hanuš (*1996)

My work focuses primarily on textile art centred on machine knitting, in which I explore my own original techniques. I also develop knitting on hand knitting machines as a workshop technician at the Mikulandská Technology Centre at UMPRUM in Prague. I likewise work with painting and drawing, which I bring into mutual dialogue with my knitted objects. The source of inspiration for my work is the safe space of gardens. Thematically, my work touches on the relationship between people and space, on safety and human self-care.

I have exhibited both solo and in group shows — for example at the Young Textile Art Triennale in Poland, in the Graphic Cabinet of the 8smička art zone, at Pragovka Gallery, at the Vysočina Regional Gallery in Jihlava and at Dutch Design Week in the Netherlands. I completed my master’s degree at the Textile Studio of UMPRUM in Prague (2018–2024) under Linda Kaplanová and Martin Pondělíček. For the second year now I have been co-developing the long-term research and art project, the Artoleč symposium.
